  Cabin Counselor - (9 openings)

Responsible for small cabin group, camper daily living routines, cabin group planning and programming, other programming responsibilities, overall involvement in camp program. Qualifications: Skills in leading and teaching children.
 
  Program Staff

Program Counselor: Responsible for planning and teaching 4 activity periods per day, other programming responsibilities, overall involvement in camp program, daily backup of cabin counselor.

Boating (2 openings) - Teach safe use of the following small craft: rowboats, canoes, paddleboats, kayaks, and sailboats. Additional responsibilities include lifeguarding free swim. Qualifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding, (will certify FREE) extensive recent experience using small craft, experience teaching children helpful.

Swimming (2 openings) - Teach American Red Cross progressive swimming. Additional responsibilities include lifeguarding free swim. Qualifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding (will certify FREE), Water Safety Instructor (will certify FREE); experience teaching swimming.

Outdoor Adventure (1 opening) - Teach basic outdoor living skills during each cabin group's "Outdoor Adventure" (not a daily program). Additional responsibilities include planning and leading a 3 day overnight to local state park with oldest cabin groups. Qualifications: Enthusiasm for outdoor life, ability to implement a meaningful outdoor living program. Extensive recent experience using outdoor living skills like tenting, fire building and outdoor cooking.

Nature (1 opening) - Teach awareness and respect for our camp outdoor environment using outdoor exploration, sharing and nature games. Additional responsibilities include maintaining nature center and caring for animals. Qualifications: Enthusiasm for outdoor life, ability to implement a meaningful nature program. Experience sharing nature with children.

Team Sports (1 opening)
-  Teach team sports skills like basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, football, baseball and the meaning of "team". Qualifications: Experience with children and teaching. Experience with a variety of team sports. Ability to implement a meaningful team sports teaching program.  

Arts (1 opening) - Teach any or all of the following: visual art, crafts, dance, drama, or music. Qualifications: Experience with children and teaching. Experience with visual or performing arts.

SWAT Floater (2 opening) - May be assigned to any camp area. Able to adapt to changing job responsibilities. Additional responsibilities MAY include assisting the leader on a 3 day overnight to local state park with oldest cabin groups. Qualifications: Ability to step into any camp program. Flexible.

  Part Summer Positions

August Floater (2)
-see above for description. Must be available for June staff training (unless returning staff) and July/August session 4 through the end of staff cleanup.

Precamp Staff Host
- Prepare for new staff (facility prep, training supplies, cleaning, paperwork, etc).  Pick up staff at airport/bus/train and drive the camp. Drive staff into town as needed. Greet, host and entertain new staff. Qualifications: Friendly and welcoming, good driving record, available all of the month of June.

  Leader In Training

LIT Program Director and Counselor (2 openings) - Implement the Leader-in-Training (LIT) program for 20 teens. Recruit next year's LIT's and interact extensively with LIT parents. Actively participate in general camp program. Opportunities for some off-season work with LIT's. Qualifications: Supervisory skills with teens, staff experience in resident camp, experience with camp LIT or CIT program helpful. Director position needs experience supervising staff.

  Support Staff

Health Coordinator (1 opening) - Implement House in the Wood Health Care Program. This includes health care for staff and campers, health and emergency training for staff and health programming for campers. Work closely with the Camp Nurse. Implement House in the Wood Safety Program. . Qualifications: American Red Cross Emergency Response (will certify FREE),  EMT or RN, experience with children and resident camp experience.

Kitchen Assistant (3 openings)
- Assist cook as needed with meals, snacks and cookout preparation. Operating as a team, cleanup kitchen and dining hall. Participate in camp program as time permits. Qualifications: Experience in institutional kitchen; ability to prep or cook.

Cook (2 openings) - Cook one or more meals following the approved menu plan. Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen. Follow all state health codes and American Camping Association standards. Order food and maintain inventory. Experience in commercial kitchen.

Weekend Cook (2+ openings) - Cook meals on the weekend following the approved menu plan. Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen. Follow all state health codes and American Camping Association standards. Experience in commercial kitchen.

Office Manager (1 opening) - Administrative support for the the Director. Run the day to day operations of the office. A lot of computer work—camper files, mailings, website uploads, PowerPoint presentations. A lot of interaction with campers—the office is where they go if they’ve done something naughty and need to talk to the director or assistant director. A lot of interaction with staff—the office is where they pick up mail and buy stamps, phone cards, etc.
Qualifications: Familiar with general office procedures. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Front Page, Internet, Power Point. Good people skills.

Camper Discipline & Counseling (1 opening) - Work with campers on their discipline issues under the direction of the Assistant Director. Teach peer mediation skills and supervise peer mediation program. Assist the Assistant Camp Director as needed with paperwork and office duties.  
Qualifications: Good with one-to-one interactions with children. Diplomatic with peers as you support them in their work areas. Flexible. Experience with peer mediation programs helpful. Good with basic computer skills like word processing, typing.

Parent Helper/Floater - Supervise Assistant Director's 3 year old child part of the day. Assist as assigned in general camp areas. Qualifications: Experience with preschoolers. Flexible. Experience at camp helpful.

  Administrative Staff (we call them Core Staff)

Program Director (1 opening) - Train and supervise program counselors. Coordinate all-camp activities and special events. Provide primary backup of program counselors. Qualifications: Staff experience in resident summer camp, supervisory skills, ability to evaluate skills of program counselors and train as needed.

Unit Director (1 opening) - Train and supervise cabin counselors. Provide primary backup of cabin counselors as needed. Other programming responsibilities. Qualifications: Staff experience in resident camp, supervisory skills, ability to evaluate staff counseling skills and train as needed.

Floating Core Staff (1opening) - Backup administrative staff as needed. Assist as needed in all operations of camp.
